Sun & Moon Support and More!
We're super excited to announce a huge update that we've pushed out today! In this update, we've added support for:
- Tracking your Sun & Moon regional dex
- Allowing one account to track multiple dexes
- Having a profile page with all your dexes
- Creating new dexes, editing dexes, and deleting dexes
- Tracking shiny dexes, complete with shiny sprites!
Sun & Moon Support
PokédexTracker has now been updated with all new Gen 7 Pokémon, including Alolan forms, Tapus, and UBs! Thanks to the new ability to track multiple dexes on one account, this has all been done in a completely backwards compatible way. You can keep the status of your old Gen 6 Living Dex in tact while working on your new Gen 7 Dex. For those who may not have the new games yet, they can still continue to use PokédexTracker with no issues.
We've opted to include just the Alolan Regional Dex for now, since that's all you need to get the Shiny Charm, and since Pokébank is not yet available. Whenever a National Dex for Alola is released, we will go ahead and update again then to support it!
We've imported all the capture and evolution information for Sun & Moon from Serebii. If you see any errors, please let us know!
Multiple Dexes on One Account
In order to support Gen 7 while keeping Gen 6 dexes in tact, we've added the ability for one account to hold more than one dex at a time.
Your Profile Page
Each account now has a profile page that gives some basic information about your account and lists all associated dexes. The link that used to take you to the only dex on your account will now take you to this profile page. But don't worry—each of your dexes will also have a unique URL you can use for sharing.
In the future, we hope to use these profile pages as a base for more features that you may find useful (profile images, blurbs, "Currently Playing", links to social media, etc).
From your profile, you have a quick view of the existing dexes on your account: their names, their percentages, what generation they are, and whether or not they are shiny.
Creating, Editing, and Deleting Dexes
Additionally, you can also manage the dexes on your account. Create new dexes as you please, edit the settings of existing dexes, or even go ahead and delete ones that aren't active anymore. Be careful when you make changes, however, because some updates may cause unrecoverable deletions!
Shiny Dexes
Last but not least—as if there weren't enough already in this update—we've also added support for tracking shiny living dexes for both Gen 6 and Gen 7! When you create a dex with the "shiny" option, we'll use entirely shiny sprites in the app! Hopefully this will be a nice added benefit for those of you who are daring enough to attempt this daunting feat.
