Isle of Armor is Here!
Hope you all are enjoying the new Isle of Armor Expansion Pass for Pokémon Sword and Shield! Since the Expansion Pass has added a new dex of its own, we've added support for tracking these new mons in PokédexTracker!
Expansion Pass Support
- Since this was the first Expansion Pass Pokémon has ever released, we had to make a decision about how it would be supported. Because the Pass adds a separate "Isle of Armor" Dex to your game, with some overlapping mons from the base game, it wasn't immediately clear how we should set the dex up. We created a poll on Twitter to get your thoughts, and decided to implement the full Sword and Shield Dex with the IoA Dex added at the end—duplicates included. We and our users on Twitter agreed that this gave the most flexibility to all sorts of use cases for tracking.
- Those of you who don't want to purchase the Expansion Pass, or haven't had a chance to, can still track a Sword or Shield Regional Dex in isolation. National Dexes, however, include the full Expansion Pass set of mons, regardless of if you choose SwSh or Expansion Pass as your base game.
- When the Crown Tundra, the second part of the Expansion Pass, launches later this year, we will be adding it together as part of this current Expansion Pass Regional Dex (and not as a completely separate game). Assuming it will also have its own separate Dex in game, we'll be adding it to the end of the current Expansion Pass Regional Dex, after IoA. We've decided to implement it this way since 1 payment automatically gives you access to both new regions.
- We've also cleaned up some catch info and bugs reported by you all:
- Fully updated the National Dex and catch info of all Pokémon who are now transferrable from HOME (we were previously missing some)
- Removed Gigantamax Melmetal since it is not currently obtainable. For the same reason we have left Zarude out of the Dexes as well.
- Fixed some Serebii URLs bugs in SwSh + LGPE dexes.
